Our Sourcing Commitment

Our Sourcing Philosophy

As a small family business run by an experienced eclectic witch with over 20 years of practice, we understand that the energy and ethics behind our products matter just as much as the products themselves. We believe that true spiritual practice requires integrity at every step—from the earth to your altar.

We prioritize quality, authenticity, and responsible sourcing in everything we offer. While we acknowledge that perfect traceability can be challenging in the metaphysical industry, we're committed to transparency about what we know, what we're working to improve, and the partners we trust.

Who We Work With

Rather than sourcing from mass wholesalers, we've built relationships with small businesses and artisans who share our values. Many of our products come through Shopify Collective partnerships with established, vetted suppliers:

  • MYSTICPRIMROSE (UK-based) - Our largest partner, providing 48 carefully curated products for your spiritual practice
  • Manifest Magic - Specialist suppliers of authentic spell ingredients and ritual components
  • The Psychic Tree - Trusted source for divination tools and ritual supplies
  • High Teas - 24 varieties of ceremonial and wellness teas for mindful practice
  • Our Own Candle Company UK - British artisan candles crafted with intention

By working with these established small businesses, we support ethical entrepreneurship while ensuring quality and accountability in our supply chain.

Transparency About Challenges

We believe in honest conversation about the realities of sourcing in the crystal and metaphysical industry. The truth is:

  • Complete mine-to-market traceability for crystals is extremely difficult, even for well-intentioned businesses
  • Many crystals pass through multiple hands before reaching retailers, making labor practices hard to verify
  • Regions like Madagascar, Brazil, and parts of Africa produce beautiful stones but sometimes under concerning conditions

We don't claim perfection, but we do commit to asking questions, vetting our suppliers, and being honest with you about what we can and cannot verify. When we don't know something, we'll tell you—and we'll work to find out.

Our Commitments

Here's what we actively do to source responsibly:

  • Support small businesses over mass wholesalers and anonymous suppliers
  • Choose UK-based suppliers when possible to reduce shipping impact and support local economy
  • Minimize packaging waste by avoiding single-use plastics where feasible
  • Continuously vet suppliers and ask difficult questions about their sourcing practices
  • Prioritize quality over quantity to reduce waste and encourage mindful consumption
  • Share what we learn with our community to raise awareness across the industry

Questions We Ask Our Suppliers

When evaluating new partners, we inquire about:

  • Where and how products are sourced
  • What they know about labor practices in their supply chain
  • Environmental considerations in production and mining
  • Their own values around sustainability and ethics
  • Certifications or third-party verification they can provide
  • Their willingness to be transparent with us and our customers

What We're Working Toward

We're on a journey, not at a destination. Areas we're actively working to improve:

  • Increasing the percentage of products with verified ethical sourcing
  • Building direct relationships with artisan producers where possible
  • Expanding our UK and European supplier network
  • Reducing our environmental footprint through packaging and shipping choices
  • Educating ourselves and our community about ethical issues in the metaphysical industry

We believe that acknowledging imperfection while striving for better is more honest than claiming to have all the answers.
